This coming Tuesday, January 15th, CNA’s Land Use/Livability/Transportation joint committees will not meet at Kennedy School.
Instead we will tour Cerimon House, located at 5131 NE 23rd, just a block off Alberta at 7PM. This will give us a chance to see the inside of what has been called the “Old White Church” before remodeling starts and to hear about their plans. They have the potential to be a great asset to the neighborhood and to CNA as it will be a low key events and arts facility.
There is no heating in the building and is quite cold so dress warmly. We will meet in the “Little Church” across the street where it is warm and then visit the building to be remodeled. It should take about 30-40 minutes of your time, so do drop in with the rest of us to see what’s going on.
Our regular monthly meeting will return to Kennedy School on Feb. 19th. In the meantime we are working with Expatriate Lounge’s Good Neighbor Agreement and awaiiting PBOT’s response to their reorganization and our traffic improvement requests of a year ago.

The Board voted in December 2012 to move the Board meeting to the 4th Tuesday of the month, so as not to conflict with Race Talks, which are held the 2nd Tuesday of every month in the Gym of the Kennedy School. Race Talks is a series of dialogues that deals with race in Oregon, both historically and up to the present time, to provide learning experiences that support the development of racial identity and sensitivity.
Each month, Kennedy School hosts a presentation on a different topic of ethnicity and racial elements in Oregon history, given by educators and/or experts in the topic at hand. The aim is to provide educational and learning experiences that support the development of intercultural sensitivity and racial identity.
