Nan Stark, City Planner / NE District Liaison for the Bureau of Planning Services (BPS), will be in the McMennamins Kennedy School Community Room from 4:30 – 6:45 pm on Wednesday March 16th to talk with Concordia property owners who received Measure 56 proposed R5 to R2.5 zone change notices.

She will also be available to talk about the status of the Comprehensive Plan Update and related topics. Her contact info is:

CHILDREN’S PARADE & FERNHILL PARK CONCERT FEATURING
CHATA ADDY

Neighbors are invited to join CNA in this National Night Out Celebration this Tuesday. National Night Out is designed to strengthen neighborhood spirit and community partnerships, and heighten community awareness of crime and drug prevention.

Our neighborhood celebration will begin at 6 pm with a Children’s Parade starting at Faubion Elementary School (3039 NE Rosa Parks Blvd). The parade will wind its way thru the nabe to Fernhill Park. We hope to see everyone get out and join the parade. Children, adults, marching bands, sports teams, church and civic groups, city officials, dance troupes, kazoo bands are all welcome! We will have a bicycle decoration station at Faubion School beginning at 5 pm., so bring your bikes, trikes, and strollers and get creative!

The celebration will continue at Fernhill Park with the last concert of our free Summer Concert Series – CHATA ADDY will bring his Funky Reggae & Afro Highlife show to the Fernhill stage at 6:30 pm. Chata’s special gift of music is a family tradition. A drummer, dancer, choreographer, songwriter and teacher, Chata has been sharing his love of music for over 40 years. In 1989 Chata moved to Ashland. He has been delighting Northwest audiences ever since. Chata enjoys connecting with young people and passing on the gift of music.

CNA is proud to present Chata Addy to our neighbors on National Night Out!

Additionally, there will be children’s activities beginning at 6:00 pm as well as our fabulous Fernhill food vendors –

Concordia Neighborhood Association General Meeting

June 9th, 7pm
McMennamin’s Kennedy School

In light of recent neighborhood events and public interest in safety and law enforcement issues, CNA has postponed the general meeting to June 9th (originally June 2nd) in order to ensure the participation of appropriate law enforcement and public safety representatives. CNA’s regular meeting of the Board of Directors (open to the public) will begin at 6pm, followed immediately by the General Meeting from 7pm to 8:30pm. Come one, come all.

The meeting will be immediately preceded by a meeting of the CNA board at 6pm. All are welcome. Detailed agendas below.

Collecting household items for Community Warehouse, a nonprofit organization that provides essential household furnishings to low-income people. Items for Community Warehouse must be clean & in useable condition, & free of stains or tears.

Collecting building materials for Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore, which helps build affordable homes in the Portland/Vancouver area and keeps usable materials out of the waste stream. Building materials must be in good, useable condition.
