The Portland Food Project Seeks Volunteer Donors to Help NE Pantries!
In December 2012, The Portland Food Project, an ALL VOLUNTR organization, welcomed two Northeast food pantries into our program: “NE Emergency Food Program” and “Cas ATrinidad Food House”. These pantries are providing an additional 80 pounds of non perishable food an additional volunteer to help with this much needed program in our community. There are several options you can contribute:
Step 1) Call 503-775-2110 or visit www.portlandfoodproject.org and click for your Green Bag
Step 2) Add 1 or 2 extra non-perishable food items to your cart each time you go shopping.
Step 3) Store the extra items in the green Food Project bag you will receive.
Step 4) Every 8 weeks, a volunteer Neighborhood Coordinator picks up your Green Bag and takes it to a local pantry. When your bag is picked up, you get a replacement bag with the next pick-up date!
2014 Pickup Dates:
- Saturday, April 12th
- Saturday, June 14th
- Saturday, August 9th
- Saturday, October 11th
- Saturday, December 13th
It’s that simple! It is not a Food Drive, but a DONOR DRIVE with neighbors feeling a sense of pride as well as a sense of community! Continue reading
Announcing Proposed Revisions to our Bylaws
Our Bylaws are the blueprint for running CNA. Every once in a while we must revisit and refresh them. Sometimes it’s to reflect new changes in Oregon law, or changes in Portland’s Neighborhoods System; sometimes the changes are solely to make our organization more effective or to allow for expansion or contraction in size, or in programming areas. These current proposals are a combination of both. Come to our Membership meeting on March 4th to vote on the proposed changes. The first 10 Concordia Neighbors to arrive at the meeting get a free beer on the CNA!

Annual Fox Chase Neighborhood Block Party Monday September 9th
To our friends at the Concordia Neighborhood Association,
It is time again for our annual Fox Chase Neighborhood Block Party. On Monday September 9th, Yakuza Lounge and the other businesses of the Fox Chase Neighborhood will close down two blocks of 30th Ave between Killingsworth and Emerson and between Killingsworth and Jarrett. The event will take place between the hours of 5pm to 10pm and will feature free food and product samples as well as musical entertainment. We will also be collecting food donation for the Oregon Food Bank. In order to setup and breakdown the event we are planning to close the blocks down from 1pm to 11pm that day.
This is an opportunity for the residents of the Fox Chase and Concordia neighborhoods to sample and learn more about the goods and services offered by the members of the neighborhood business community. It is also a great chance to mingle with your friends and neighbors while helping to gather supplies for the Food Bank.
Please feel free to contact me with any concerns or questions you might have regarding this event.
Sincerely,
Leb Borgerson
