Our May meeting on Tuesday, May 1, is a great way to get involved and learn more about what’s going on in our neighborhood. Meetings are held in the Community Room at McMenamin’s Kennedy School.
Your board members are involved in livability issues affecting our area, such as land use, traffic and noise. Several board members and neighbors form our livability, land use and transportation committee, working with various agencies to promote crosswalks, reduce traffic and establish good neighbor agreements with businesses in our area.
For example, did you know that we have a neighborhood clean-up scheduled for Saturday, May 12? How about that we have a neighborhood police officer? Officer Jim Quackenbush attends our monthly meetings, gives updates on neighborhood issues and answers questions.
The general outline for the May meeting will cover three areas of livability: Neighborhood Night Out/block parties, our neighborhood clean-up and crime prevention. Come and get your questions answered on how to throw a block party or prevent and report graffiti.
Attending the monthly meetings is a great way to get to know more about the neighborhood and meet new people. The CNA board members put a lot of time and effort into making our neighborhood a better place to live and work. It’s exciting to see what new things are happening. You can help make things happen. Get involved by attending meetings, joining a committee or even becoming a board member. We are your neighbors too!
