    Hi,

I just moved to the neighborhood and have enrolled my children in Concordia music and plan to enroll them in summer camps. I have heard that you have an incredible Easter Egg Hunt but didn’t see any 2013 information on your website. Will you be hosting one this year? I have 2 three year-olds who I am sure would love to attend.

    Thank you,
    Meredith

    Hello CNA!

I wanted to reach out to your group about the opportunity to host international students that are studying English at ELS Language Centers located out of Concordia Universty.

Each year, ELS contributes to the rich diversity of the neighborhoods surrounding Concordia by welcoming in students from all over the world. Our host families play a vital role in acquainting students to the area and helping them bring memories of Portland back home!

Host families provide breakfast and dinner, a private bedroom, the opportunity for students to speak English, support, and insight into American culture. Families are compensated with a stipend for increased food and utility costs.

We find that active community members tend to be some of the most successful hosts and so I was hoping you could advise me on the best way to reach out to your CNA members about this opportunity.

Feel free to email me at akrant@els.edu or call my office line at 503-493-6281.

    Thank you kindly,

    Ashley Krant

Annual CNA Clean-Up is happening Saturday, June 1st from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the PCC Workforce Training Center on NE 42nd Ave & Killingsworth! Please our homepage for details. We are also looking for volunteers for this fun event.

I’m wanting to talk with someone about your lovely neighborhood. As we look at homes there, I have a question about PDX traffic. Is someone available to chat with?

  5. Amanda says:

Just a reminder that the first Cully Community Market day of the season is this Sunday, June 2nd at the PCC Workforce Training Center parking lot. 10am-2pm http://www.cullycomunitymarket.org

Let me know if you would like any additional information. We also have yard signs available for Concordia neighbors. (Come to the market to pick them up, or let us know where to drop them off)

Good luck on your clean-up this Saturday- looks like there will be good weather.

Are the dates for the 2013 Neighborhood Yard Sales decided? And when are they?

    Thank you

2013 Yard/Garage Sale Dates please? Participation Fee?

  8. The Portland Food Project is an all volunteer organization that brings non perishable food to local pantries and we are interested in presenting our project to the Concordia Neighborhood Association. We can present in 10 minutes. Hope to hear from you. I also can be reached at 503-775-2110

  9. Dear Concordia neighbors,

I serve on the board of the Woodlawn Neighborhood Association (WNA) and a major priority of ours is establishing a small Train Horn Quiet Zone along Lombard between Cully and NE 11th Ave. We are woken up by the incredibly loud train horns and it really affects our quality of life. Is this an issue for some folks in your neighborhood, too, and if so would you like to unite with us and push it as a priority?

Some of us WNA folks will be attending the transportation and land use meeting with the NE Coalition and Commissioner Novick on Wed., and it would be great if you could join us there: http://necoalition.org/programs-2/community-committees/land-use-and-transportation-committee/

Thank you and I hope you all enjoyed the holiday weekend!

    Hello!
I am interested in using the newspaper to advertise my real estate team. We are with Keller Williams and Mark Charlesworth is the lead agent. He is a member of the CNA. I went to the advertising segment and got this message:

“Promote your business or organization by advertising in the CNA News. Reach a large diverse neighborhood of monthly readers. For pricing and design specs click here to download our rate sheet.”

However I tried to “click here” but there is no link attached. Please help me with who I need to contact and talk to in order to get this started!

    Thanks!

I was curious as to how, if able, we can place an ad for our heating and air conditioning company within your Newsletter/Newspaper. We are located just down the street off Marine Drive and would love to hear what options are available.

    Thank You for your time,
    Ian McDonald

The January 5th cover story in The Oregonian on oil trains says that about 600,000 barrels pass through Portland every month. I suspect that some if not all of this crude oil passes through the Concordia neighborhood on the track beside Lombard. I suggest we ask the Ciry of Portland for a presentation on safety related to oil trains and potential emergency response in Concordia. What does CNA think about this?
