Shirley,
I live close by on 35th just off Killingsworth. There are times at night as well as morning -- depending on the weather I can hear the sounds of Jets idling at the airport. This is not 24/7 or anything that would keep me from sleeping and it usually is in the warmer months when I have the windows open.

I've forwarded your questions over to our land use chair to get his thoughts.

Good morning.
Perhaps this is not the right place to make this inquiry, so I apologize if it isn't, I just don't know where to go.

There is a low drone sound, like a generator or truck idling , every day 24/7. Sometimes it is more intense than other times. I have noticed it in the past year and a half, and it seems to be getting worse. At night, when sounds are more intense, it sometimes keeps me awake, and I have get up, because I tell my husband I can " feel" the noise. I have no clue where it is originating, but it seems to be coming from the
north. We live on 37th off Killingsworth. Have there been any other complaints like this? My daughter lives a block up from me, my neighbor next door, and my neighbor on 38th have also heard this noise (so I no longer think I am nuts!)

Thank you for your time. It is causing me a lot of frustration, because I am losing sleep, and I can't identify the source of the problem.

Sincerely,

Lesley,
Thanks for getting in touch. Currently the CNA is planning on a general meeting that will address Concordia Emergency Preparedness & Neighborhood Resiliency (with probable launch of Neighborhood Social, Health, & Food Services Asset Mapping System). This is tentatively scheduled for October 2012. If you would like to volunteer to help in the preparation of this meeting let me know and I can put you in touch with the head of the committee. Also, stay up to date by following the site and reading CNA News.

Hi,
I would like the CNA to host a neighborhood discussion or meeting, with an expert on the topic, about emergency preparedness, evacuation routes, safe places to go to in case of, etc.
Who might I talk to about this?
Thank you,
Lesley

Maybe I missed it in the Concordia News, but what prompted the construction of concrete barricades at 33rd and NE Holman?

The city does not allow signs in the Ainsworth median. I just rescued one of your Easter Egg hunt signs from the mowing crew. Contact me at 503-781-9339 to retrieve it. They are working their way east from NE 15th to Fernhill Park and retrieve your signs before they throw them out. It is now Wednesday 04/04/12 1300 hrs. Hurry! RF

I brought this up before, and I was told that the proposal for a Facebook page for the Concordia Neighborhood Association was voted down. Is it possible for this to come to a vote once again? Please read the following story about a successful Facebook page in Vancouver that has provided many benefits to its residents. I doubt that many people in our neighborhood frequent the concordiapdx website, but I am sure that many residents would follow a page on Facebook. It's a great way to build community, get to know our neighbors, and learn about events in the neighborhood.
